The Sri Lankan Journal of Optometry and Vision Sciences (SJOVS)

SJOVS is a peer-reviewed open-access journal committed to advancing clinical and scientific understanding in all areas of optometry and vision science. It publishes original research, reviews, and case studies that contribute to evidence-based eye care and visual health.

Key focus areas include clinical optometry, low vision rehabilitation, binocular vision, orthoptics, and vision therapy, while welcoming work on pediatric and geriatric eye care, ocular diagnostics and instrumentation, and innovations in contact lenses and ocular prosthetics.

Research on tele-optometry, visual ergonomics, and public health in vision care is also encouraged as SJOVS serves as a multidisciplinary platform for clinicians, educators, and researchers in eye and vision science.

Its mission is to bridge scientific discovery with clinical practice to improve visual outcomes and quality of life, fostering regional and global collaboration to support the growth of optometric research and innovation in Sri Lanka and beyond.

The journal maintains a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure integrity and academic excellence, and through open access advances the dissemination of vision science knowledge to a worldwide audience.
